Samford University Family Weekend

Brand Identity | Event

Designed the branding and marketing materials for the 2019 Samford University Family Weekend.

Event Logo: For this project, the client decided she wanted the theme to be "vintage travel," so I did some research. I found vintage postcards with landmarks in the city names and realized this would be perfect for the landmarks on campus.

Poster & Postcard: Since the logo was already based on vintage postcards, the postcard was a piece of cake. These were sent out to parents a few weeks before the event. For the poster, I broke convention and made a horizontal poster to play off of the post card theme. These were posted in the hallways and stairwells around campus.

Registration Banners: The banners were hung above the registration tables at the event. I used separate colors for will-call and walk-up registration to denote the different tables at a glance.

Meal Tickets: When designing the event meal tickets, I noticed that each event was near or in one of the landmarks in the logo. This gave me the idea to highlight these parts of the logo on the ticket to be a guide and design element.

Tiny Sam Scavenger Hunt: The Tiny Sam Photo Scavenger Hunt challenges participants to find and record where the photos were taken. After returning the completed card, a winner was selected and awarded a weekend package for Step-Sing competition the following January. The inconspicuous man in the bottom left corner is Mr. Beeson, an iconic statue at the university.
